Francis Hagendorfs Works CV @hagendorfs_

Bio nr.1

Francis Hagendorfs holds a BA in Visual Communication from the Art Academy of Latvia and is currently enrolled in the POST specialisation of the master's programme. In his artistic practice, he focuses on video installations that unravel various narratives about quiet posthumanism, digital ruins, self-evident potential, ergonomics, and monumentalism.

He develops objects with an emphasis on the poetic significance of materials and their relationship to text, creating a broader, branching chain of analogies and associations. Hands that know what to do in private become hesitant once exposed to a gaze.

Tiny monumentality – when you are about to lift something, you gather enough strength, perhaps all that your body possesses, and as you lift it, you realise that the thing you wanted to move is much lighter than it first appeared.
